Fiona Fawcett is a glass artist specialising in kiln formed glass, inspired by the natural landscape and maritime environment. The techniques of lost wax casting, glass fusing and slumping are used to form and manipulate the glass in a kiln with controlled heat up to 820°C. Painstaking cold working processes, such as fettling and polishing, are used to exploit the optical and tactile qualities of the glass.
Fiona graduated from the University of Sunderland with a First Class BA(Hons) in Glass and Ceramics in 2015 and makes her bespoke glasswork from her studio in Suffolk. She is a member of the Contemporary Glass Society (CGS).
