Jo Gough is a Cheshire born artist who has always had an artistic talent and a passion for painting. She has developed her own style with no formal instruction or training.
Like many of us, when it came to picking a career path, Jo opted for a practical option and studied for an HND in Computer Programming and went on to work for Local Government for many years. Despite making this career decision, Jo’s heart would not be silenced and she continued to indulge in her passion for art in her spare time.
At first, Jo did this for self enjoyment but as friends and family started to make requests, she soon realised she had the potential to earn a living doing what she loved.
Jo primarily works with acrylic paints applied to high quality canvasses and images of her work are used to create a successful greeting cards and gift range.
Her merchandise is on sale in the Chester Visitor Centre, the National Museums in Liverpool and numerous Waterstones stores in the North West. Jo is also represented by the publishing house Portfolio based in London.
Jo’s love of iconic landmarks, flowers and bright colours combine beautifully together to create nostalgic paintings of special places.
